New Jersey ACEP is committed to serving our communities and promoting rapid access to buprenorphine and other appropriate treatments for patients struggling with opioid use disorder. NJ-ACEP recognizes the increasing mortality from opioid overdose and supports buprenorphine initiation in the emergency department for the treatment of opioid use disorder. We strongly encourage all emergency departments in New Jersey to integrate buprenorphine into their patient treatment options. We will work to promote buprenorphine education, mentorship, and transition of care for all emergency physicians in the state.
Physicians, residents, APRNs, PAs and medical students from all over the US are eligible for the course.
Given the recent release of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) new Practice Guidelines on prescribing buprenorphine for opioid use disorder (HHS release here, and Practice Guidelines here) we will be updating the training being provided.
The course content will now review all the information needed to use/prescribe buprenorphine in and ED and faculty will walk attendees through the process of registering with SAMHSA to get prescribing privileges. The updated duration is now approx. 120 mins and CME will be provided.
No trainings are available at this time.
